IAM Weak

2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now, I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

At first, it doesn’t sound powerful to admit that we are weak.  It may even sound a bit negative, but there are times in life when brute force hard work it’s going to cut it.

There are going to be times when the counter cultural approach of taking a step back, and admitting that there is nothing we can do, except fall on God’s grace is the most powerful solution.

There are many powers in this world, but there is only one Power of Christ.  I know in order to accomplish and see all the things that I truly desire in this life, the only chance I have is through the power of Jesus.  The way Jesus loved, healed, and spent time with people is the world’s greatest power.

It’s not about perfect skills learned in school or training class.

My close friend John says to me constantly “The greatest miracle is the changing of someone’s soul and the transformation of their mind.”   And I believe it.  I have zero power to do that on my own.

So I can boast gladly about this one face:  In my own power, I am nothing.  I am an amateur among amateur.  With Jesus, I am nothing.

That’s the time when I lift my hands surrender and say, God, I need your grace to take over my weakness.  Then I am ready to let the power of Christ work through me.

The way of the world is to puff up our chest, and act like everything is ok.

The way of Jesus is to start off the day by saying: Jesus!  Your grace is sufficient for me.

I am Nothing without Jesus!  IAM powerless without God.

At first it doesn’t make sense, to run towards the things we are least confident in. Run towards the situations that will make us look weak!

But that’s where the true victory is!
