2 CORINTHIANS 9: 6-8 NLT Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
Being a farmer takes faith and patience, but it also takes action.
The greatest investment into the Kingdom we can make is a generous cheerful gift. God loves a person who gives cheerfully.
Ask God to fill you with joy and passion as you invest your time and energy for eternal good. Smile when you give. Smile, sing and dance when you donate of your time and energy in service.
Ask for God’s heart for the poor. Ask God to show you how even a little more financial resources would empower a ministry to minister to more people. Also in our world today: Time is money. Well how about making time investments into building the kingdom? I know that when I spend time in ministry, that does alleviate financial pressures for our church. There are ways that we can give freely of our time, that allows our ministries to save money, and put those resources elsewhere. So even if you say, I don’t have enough money, then donate your time. Your unique awesomeness is needed in the lives of others.
In the most non pressure filled way possible, I want to encourage you. Give in faith of your time and resources. Because of this one question: Can you put a dollar amount on a cost of one soul? Can you put a value on the miraculous healing for the terminally ill? Can you put a dollar amount on the soul of a young child who has their life let on the path to following Jesus, because you shared God’s love with them every Sunday School?
