IAM Persistent

LUKE 11:9-13 NLT “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. “You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead?  Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not!  So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”

Don’t give up.  When you want something bad enough, then the world is going to test you how bad you want it.  How many times have you ever knocked on someone’s door?  Would it change if you knew someone was inside and you could hear them?

Was it just a little phase in your life or is it a burning passion that defines who you are?keepon_1

Expectation is an important part of our identity and prayers. Expect that the prayers will be answered.  Expect that your visions and hopes will come to pass. Instead of asking once, not hearing anything and giving up after the first little road block.  Also expect that it is going to happen because we are speaking to a Good God.

God is ready, willing and powerful enough to grant what you are praying for.  God wants the best for you. God wants to grant you the power of his Spirit to live in power.

Let’s speak out our identity today:

IAM Persistent

IAM Determined

IAM a Child of a Good God

IAM Given the Holy Spirit because I ask for it.

I want to encourage you to take the time to read all of Luke 11.

Let the words roll over in your mind.  Ask God to give you hope, expectation, words to pray, and the spirit to keep on asking and seeking until the prayers are answered.

IAM Joyful

1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18 NLT Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

ROMANS 5:3-5 NLT We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Joyfulness is much different than just being happy for a momentary time.  Joy is deeper.  Joy is a state of character and being.  It defines you and it sustains you.  Being truly joyful doesn’t come from willpower or brute force.  It comes from a proper understanding of who we are praying to.  When you wake up in the morning, are you a person filled with hope and joy?

Always be Joyful, and the follow up is always be in prayer.  When I was a kid, I thought prayer was me quietly sitting in church with my hands clasped being quiet.  Well there are times for solemn prayer.  Let’s make prayer simple:  It’s you speaking to God, and also listening to God.

During the day, I hear about people who need prayer, I don’t need to pull my car over and pray on the side of the road, I can pray in my spirit as I am driving.  Many people do prayer walks.  These prayer walks are not just us talking to God in a one way conversation.  There are many times, we are in silence waiting to receive direction and communication from God.  Many times, I ask God to show me how I can be thankful for a bad situation.  I need to take time to calm down, and ask God to give me his eyes and understanding.  Let prayer and communication with our wonderful Creator become a habit and a part of your character.

It takes to build up a character of Joy and Faith.  Prayer is the vehicle to get there.  Prayer develops your endurance and hope.  We cannot always outsource growth and depth in prayer to someone else, just like we can’t pay someone else to go to the gym and exercise for our physical benefit.  Ask God to help you grow into a prayer warrior.  Ask God to teach you how to be in prayer, thanking Him for everything. Then when the storms and drama pop up into our lives, we will have the character and hope to overcome them without losing faith or joy.

Our character and identity in Joyfulness then becomes rooted in a love relationship with our God who we have been communicating with on a daily basis.  God doesn’t let us down like people in this world!  As we build a relationship with our faithful God, remember that is our Father.  His character is faithfulness.  If you associate disappointment with your relatives or parents, you gotta let that go.  Don’t transfer that character to God the Father.

Transformation of your character can start today.  Take one step of faith today.

Be 100% confidence in these truths about your identity

IAM Loved by God

IAM able to communicate in prayer to God

IAM Hopeful in God’s faithfulness

IAM Thankful in all Things

IAM Continuously in Prayer

IAM many many degrees beyond happy!

IAM Always Joyful

That’s the fullness of life that God wants for you, so you can change the world!

IAM A Mountain Mover

MARK 11:22-25 NLT Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God.  I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.  I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.  But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too. ”

Jesus said: Have faith in God.  All of our hopes and beliefs gotta be in God.  You can’t just depend on human nature or laws of the universe to work things out.  Put all of your faith in God and nothing else.

I tell you the truth, that some serious emphasis!
When the savior of the world says… I tell you the truth, I definitely want to listen to what he says.
I must really believe it will happen and have No DOUBT in my heart.

I know that sometimes when I pray, i throw in the little self handicap. “If it’s possible”  or “May it be your will”  almost to leave a little room just in case my prayer requests don’t get answered.   That little self handicap is enough doubt to quench my faith and beliefs.

When we pray , pray with zero doubts.  Pray and ask for the whole mountain.  Just as easy as it sounds just to speak the prayers and believe, it’s just as easy to prayer and harbor doubts.

I encourage you to have a prayer journal. Next to each prayer item, reserve a space for date and time that prayer was answered.  That expectation and space for answered prayers is a tool to help eliminate any doubt.  And when each prayer get’s answered, celebrate joyfully and share that awesome praise report with others!

Pray with language that you’ve already received the answers to prayer. It’s already done!  Just like when Jesus healed people that were not even in his presence.  When he said it, then it’s already been worked out in heaven and on earth. Speak realities into existence with the power of our faith and words!

As Jesus is teaching us about prayer, he is specific to tell us to clear any accounts with others. Our unforgiveness holds us back from a deeper level of faith and prayer.  Those seeds of unforgiveness can take root in your heart and soul.  Those roots totally sabotage your prayer times, because you can’t get past them.  Please take some time and think about any grudges or past wounds you are holding.  They fester and become places where the lies of the enemy attack you.  Then we end up spending more soul time dwelling on our past and less time on moving mountains.

Friends: with all the crazy things going on today, the world need’s prayer warriors who have no doubts.
God is willing and ready to answer our prayers.
Take some time and search your heart:  Let’s make sure we aren’t holding any grudges and lets go fully into our prayer ministry!
Crimes against humanity are waiting to be thwarted by our prayers
Depressed people who are suicidal can be saved through our prayers
Cancerous and terminally ill people are waiting to receive healing through our prayers
Broken relationships and families can be restored
People to severe bondage and addiction to deathly habits and substances are waiting for deliverance.

It’s our God that provides all the power to do it.

All we do is ask and pray.

Pray and ask God for 100% faith in him.

When we pray, spend time focusing on His greatness, even before we get into the prayer part.  Look at the example of the Lord’s prayer and see what Jesus gave as a model for prayer.

IAM a Mountain Mover!

IAM a Miracle Worker
IAM a Healer of Wounds
IAM Filled with Faith
IAM 100%
IAM Forgiven and I Forgive
All because of Jesus.

I AM Unwavering

Hebrews 10: 23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near

The God who has promised us great things is a consistent God.
He can be trusted to keep his promises.

All we need to do is hold on tightly without wavering to the HOPE we affirm.

The hope we have testified to.
That hope is a guideline.
Imagine walking over a rope bridge.

Imagine walking over this bridge blindfolded, except for the assurances from God.  Uhh yeah!  someone pack my depends undergarments?
1. It’s going to be ok
2. the ropes and cables won’t snap
3. just keep walking and hold on

I am pretty sure every step and handhold, I would be praying to God.
God! Help me!

It’s my personal prayer that I could adopt this way of thinking and conversation with God. To prayerfully consider everything. To be in the Spirit in every moment of my life.

And once I cross this bridge. Do I do it alone?
No! Thankfully the word tells us that there are others He wants us to cross the bridge daily with.

Hebrews 10:25 ESV not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

You know habits form in the brain , psyche and will.
It takes over 21 days to form a habit.
and over 66 days to lock it in for good.
Habits can form in negative ways as well as positive life giving ways.

The ESV uses the word Habit, and I think it’s perfect.
Do we look forward to, and cherish the fellowship of believers?
Does it strengthen and refresh us?
If it doesn’t maybe we should look at who we are fellowshipping with the most?

I know that when I spend time with my church, life group, wife, kids, I look forward to it.
But in the times that I feel like I want to avoid my true friends, its probably because I am hiding something, guilty, and I want to avoid times of conviction and growth.

Let us motivate one another to acts of Love and Good works. How?
Through prayer, through encouragement.
Not through isolation.
But with meeting with each other
And in increasing frequency as we see the day approaching.
Let’s proclaim the truth of who you are today:
I AM Unwavering
I AM Holding tight to God’s Promises
I AM to Stir up my Brothers and Sisters
I AM a Habitual Encourager
I AM a Habitual Fellowshipper
