IAM An Earthen Vessel

2 Corinthians 4:7 NLT We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

Friends, I don’t want anyone to put themselves down, and think that they are worthless. All of our worth comes from the light and great treasure that we have the wonderful privilege of having inside of us. Other translations of the verse say, we are earthen vessels. The stuff inside of us, is many times more valuable than the container itself.  True humility isn’t walking around saying, I am nothing, I am worthless.  True humility is living in God’s truth of who you are.  Living in proper understanding of how God see’s you and your is the place where we want to be.

Earthen vessels are clay jars that are fragile. God chooses us to fill with his light. That light is the greatest power in the world. The light of Christ is the only power and force that can save the heart of a man. The love of God that pours into us, is the only true love that can break through even the hardest of hearts.

Every jar is meant to hold something, then be poured out when the time comes. We aren’t meant to store up and never be shared with the world.

God has formed you with his hands. God has a special purpose for your life. Your unique personality, passion and skills were formed into you for a God’s plan. Then he has placed you in the kiln to cure you. I want to encourage some of you, that if you feel like God has turned up the heat in your life, ask God to give you patience to endure the process. The fire, heat and pressure of life is what is completing you. When you are tempted to ask, “Why me?”, try and ask God “For what purpose are you pressure treating me?”

It’s now your time to respond to God and say, use me, pour me out wherever you see fit. The treasure that God has placed inside of you, isn’t just for your benefit, it’s to be shared with the world. And just as the women broke the alabaster jar and anointed Jesus, we will be broken and poured out to do beautiful ministry for God’s Glory.

IAM Christ-Minded

phil-21-2

Philippians 2:1-5 NLT Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

It may not be a real word that you can use in scrabble for major points, but the idea is right on.  IAM Christ-Minded

I am encouraged, motivated and pushed everyday to take on the mind of Christ.  That is my heart’s desire.  That my heartbeat and soul would pulse and have the same rhythm as God’s.

That mind of Christ is to be humble.  To be more concerned about the needs and interests of others

Brain, Mind, soul, heart… all of those parts are different things going on inside me. When I think about what moves me and drives me. I can’t separate any of them, into easy compartments.  It’s kind of messy, and all of those parts of our being are being transformed to be more like Jesus if we choose and desire it.

When we belong to Christ, there are a couple encouragements that come from that.

  1. Comfort from his Love
  2. Fellowshipping in the Spirit
  3. Tenderness and Compassion of heart

I am so thankful to be a part of a community that agrees wholeheartedly with each other and what God wants.  I see and receive that daily.  I know that I am loved, and I love others and it nourishes my soul.  And we are moving towards big time dreams with one mind and purpose.  When a community is wholeheartedly living and interacting with these attitudes of Christ, then it’s amazing to see the unity of Love and purpose.

I have one mind. I have one purpose. To share the Love of Jesus with as many people as possible
