IAM a Messenger of Reconciliation

2 CORINTHIANS 5:19-21 NLT For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

Jesus sets us free. He clears our sins. Once you accept this truth into your life, your life changes. No one counts your sins against you. God sent his son Jesus as a sacrifice for our sins. Jesus sacrifice made us right with God. That’s a wonderful message!

God immediately gives us a mission: to share this amazing message with as many people as possible. We have one goal and calling. Don’t waste any time with condemnation, judgment, style points or heavy theology. I wonder why so many so called Christian organizations spend time with the minor things. Why do they spend little time on the most important message of Love? Then I realize because the more they waste time, the more the enemy wins. Friends, don’t allow your life to get off track. As ambassadors of God, we have a single purpose: a ministry of reconciliation.

God makes his appeal to the world through us. You have a voice and a message! Jesus is asking us to tell the world “Come back to God!”

Jesus asking us to come back to God, starts with one initial premise. You started off in God. God started your life. God created you. A relationship with God is your rightful place.

Father-and-child

God makes his appeal to the world through your amazing testimony. When you chose to return to God, a miracle happened in your life. When you accepted God and asked Him to come into your life, an amazing transformation took place. Someone must share the greatest love story with the world. Only you can tell your story. No one tells it better than you. Your unique life, gifts, vocation, skills, voice and beautiful personality deliver God’s message of love to the world.

img_home_m(1)

God already called us to his service. We all have the same calling: Share God’s love and mercy with others until they come back to him. God asks us to take on his relentless character as we carry out his calling. That’s the 99%. The last 1% is your unique spiritual gifts, perspective, passion and burden for the lost. Take some time and write these down: Who? What? And Where? God answers the “HOW”: With his message of Love and reconciliation. God already answered the “WHEN” question: as soon as possible!

With that sheet of paper that has your Who, What and Where, also write these proclamations about your identity!

IAM An Earthen Vessel

2 Corinthians 4:7 NLT We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

Friends, I don’t want anyone to put themselves down, and think that they are worthless. All of our worth comes from the light and great treasure that we have the wonderful privilege of having inside of us. Other translations of the verse say, we are earthen vessels. The stuff inside of us, is many times more valuable than the container itself.  True humility isn’t walking around saying, I am nothing, I am worthless.  True humility is living in God’s truth of who you are.  Living in proper understanding of how God see’s you and your is the place where we want to be.

Earthen vessels are clay jars that are fragile. God chooses us to fill with his light. That light is the greatest power in the world. The light of Christ is the only power and force that can save the heart of a man. The love of God that pours into us, is the only true love that can break through even the hardest of hearts.

Every jar is meant to hold something, then be poured out when the time comes. We aren’t meant to store up and never be shared with the world.

God has formed you with his hands. God has a special purpose for your life. Your unique personality, passion and skills were formed into you for a God’s plan. Then he has placed you in the kiln to cure you. I want to encourage some of you, that if you feel like God has turned up the heat in your life, ask God to give you patience to endure the process. The fire, heat and pressure of life is what is completing you. When you are tempted to ask, “Why me?”, try and ask God “For what purpose are you pressure treating me?”

It’s now your time to respond to God and say, use me, pour me out wherever you see fit. The treasure that God has placed inside of you, isn’t just for your benefit, it’s to be shared with the world. And just as the women broke the alabaster jar and anointed Jesus, we will be broken and poured out to do beautiful ministry for God’s Glory.

Friend: Let’s proclaim the truth today!

IAM a New Creation

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him

If someone told you that you could hit the reset button on life. If you could go back to the carefree days of your youth, no bills, drama, aching bones, grey hair, would you believe them? The secret to going back and starting over is in Christ. Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.

I love the truth that this verse shouts to us today! Anyone! That’s pretty clear. There is no room for exceptions. Every person living on this earth applies! Do you belong to Christ? Have you given your life to him? Have you surrendered control to him? This is the hard part. The miracle of becoming a new person is to reset your identity as a belonging of Christ. We have to allow Jesus to become our master. Jesus wants to write his name on your heart, so that we know who we belong to.

The outcome of that choice that we make is this: The old life has gone, and a new life has begun. I want that! I want it right now! I don’t want to be the same person I was yesterday. I don’t want to have the same troubles and drama as last week. I want to be a new person.

This membership into the “belonging to Jesus” club can’t be purchased by you. It has already been bought. It’s a choice to accept and open the gift. We can’t earn it. There is only one requirement, the accept Jesus as your savior. God gave us this gift to bring us back to him.

There is only task we have, once we belong to Jesus. Our new life, new way of operating in this world, new mind, new spirit are all granted to us for one purpose: to reconcile as many people as possible to God. To help others pass from death to life. The benefits are great and we should rejoice in them. I hope there is a sense of relief when we are living in the joy and hope of the new life if Christ.

We have become a bridge to God.

Let’s desire that same joy and hope for everyone else who does not have it. From the day of your new birth to your last breath, you have one purpose and calling. Get as many people to accept the wonderful gift of God to become a belonging of Christ. My skin may turn wrinkly, and all my hair may fall out or turn grey, but the new life inside of me is giving me power and passion to complete my one mission and task on this earth.

Let’s reset our lives and purpose today!

IAM Given a Gift

EPH 2:8-10 NLT God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Friends, the wonderful gift of salvation and life is the greatest gift that we could ever receive.  It’s there waiting for all of us.  We are the recipients of the gift.  The greatness is in the gift and the gift giver.  We did not deserve it or earn it, but God graciously gives it to us.  Today, I want to encourage you to keep a proper perspective.  Not to lower ourselves and consider ourselves worthless.  Because God loves us so much, and that fact of being loved by God makes our idenity powerful.  There is no boasting in being given a gift by the skin of our teeth.  I hope there is a feeling of gratitude and thankfulness for the amazing grace we have received.

God saw something and planned something amazing for your life, long long ago.  That the amazing story of redemption is being written now as we speak.  That amazing story is resulting in a masterpiece that God is forming everyday.  The masterpiece that God is making out of your life is not meant to be sitting on the wall of a museum behind security glass.  God had a plan for you to do good things with that masterpiece.

 keep-calm-cause-god-loves-you-15

Let’s put down God’s Plan
1. He gave us the gift salvation because He loved us.
2. That gift of salvation working in us makes us an amazing masterpiece
3. The story and power of redemption of your life transformation into a masterpiece is a good good work for others to see.  For you to testify with your life, the amazing grace God offers to all man.

That’s the generic version:  allow God to form you, and mold you into the masterpiece he sees for your life.
Be a living testimony that God’s amazing grace is a gift that everyone is worthy to receive.
Encourage others to grow in their self worth because of the value of the gift and gift giver
Let God give you his heart for a specific purpose, passion or calling.
Keep on being awesome because our God is awesome!

Listening to You Opened Up My Eyes by Martyn Layzell #nowplaying http://grooveshark.com/s/You+Opened+Up+My+Eyes/4zDpia?src=5

Let’s celebrate the fact that we we were once dead, but now we’re alive!

Martyn Layzell : You Opened Up My Eyes

Not by words and not by deeds. But by grace we have been saved
And it is the gift of God, the faith we need
Not by strength and not by might. But with power from on high
So that we can only boast, boast in You

For once I was dead, now I’m alive. For freedom I’m set free
And in Your great love, life do I find. You opened up my eyes
Not with eloquence or fame. But with weakness and in shame
For the power of Your strength. Is then revealed
And the message of Your cross. Seemed such foolishness to some
But the mercy of Your grace is hidden there

What mercy, what mercy, what mercy beneath Your cross
Your mercy, Your mercy, Your mercy beneath Your cross

IAM a God Imitator

EPH 5:1-2 NLT Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

I can tell you as a father of two wonderful amazing girls in their childhood, there have been distinct moments when I have observed them do something really amazing.  The thoughts that went through my mind was : “That’s my girls!  Yes! I am their Daddy!  Yes those little mini-me’s right there, those are my children!”  Their actions were a pleasing aroma to me and my wife.  And even more to God.  Yes, I have the wonderful privilege of raising my girls until they are adults, and I hope I can model Godly things for them everyday.
God does that in the heavens everyday when he sees you.  Do you know that?  Can you hear it?

Today, the word is encouraging us to the imitators of God.  Imitation not in a bad, knock off, poor copy sort of way, but a very very close representation of the true and living God.  Be imitators in everything we do.   Everything, leaves no room for a sliver of weakness.  When we play the part, and start living it out, it becomes very very difficult to compartmentalize my old life, and my new life.  I want to encourage you:  Go all in!  Don’t reserve 1% of your life, and say:”God, I trust you for 99% but I gotta keep this 1% for myself”  God wants it all, and he demands everything.  As your heart desires to be more like God, just say, Ok God, I trust you the good father, with everything in my life.  Buckle up, because it’s a wonderful ride!

Walking-in-Your-Destiny

We imitate God, because it is his DNA that he has given to us.  We imitate God, because it is our new nature to live a life filled with love.  Ask God to fill you with love every morning.  Ask God to help you to be more and more like Jesus in all that you do.  Jesus came to this earth to serve and sacrfice his life for us.  Jesus loved and lived sacrifically.  That’s our perfect example for true wonderful aroma filled living.

There is nothing you can do or say that can take away your identity that God has placed on you.
It doesn’t matter if you were born into this world with awesome parents, or rotten parents, your DNA is the DNA of the Creator.
Their life and destiny is not your life and destiny.
God is a loving father that has an amazing unique plan for your life.
Remember the truth:  I am God’s dear child, He loved me and gave himself to purchase my life.

IAM a God Imitator
IAM a Child of God
IAM 100% God’s
IAM Loved by God
IAM a Pleasing Aroma to God

IAM Adopted

EPH 1:4-8 NLT Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.  He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.

6511522

It’s hard for me to fully understand the depth of God’s heart and mind.  It’s my limitation because my mind is just not developed enough to understand or even have the capacity to think back that far.  I am starting to forget things that happened to me as a child.  The mind of our God is so much greater.  Even before the world began, God loved you and me.  That’s a very very very long time ago.
Not only did God love us, but he chose us to be in relationship with him.  It was premeditated adoption, through Jesus Christ.

God chose you!  He picked you out!  Out of all the humans that have lived on this earth througout the history of man, God wanted you to be in relationship with him. That choice was based in God’s kindness and grace.

I think I know a purpose for genealogies in the bible.  So and so begat so and so.. etc.  And how they trace all the way back to Adam.  He had a purpose and plan for you and me, even in the Garden of Eden.  It was deliberate and thought out.  Moses was adopted for a special purpose by the daughter of the Pharaoh.  It may not matter how you were born into this life or the circumstances, it’s more important whose loving royal family you have been adopted into today.  All the history of the world has been waiting for you since before the world began.

I want to encourage you with the powerful truth in your identity.  You are a chosen member adopted into God’s family purchased through Jesus.  An adoption is not cheap, and our adoption into God’s family was very costly.  Jesus’ blood was the cost to free us from death.  That’s what God went through for us.  That’s how important you are!

If someone asked you today: “Who are you?”  Can you answer in confidence that question?
I am a Child of the King.

RoyaltyKingofkings

Answering that question with confidence brings power and posture through wisdom and understanding.
Power to live with the full confidence in knowing who you are.
You don’t have to spend any mental time on the what if’s and questions about direction.
You are moving full steam ahead into your destiny

Posture is your stance and mojo. It affects your language and prayers.  When we pray, we know we are talking to our Daddy.  When we speak with others about who God is, we can speak with first hand knowledge of what we know deep down.  Not just what we heard from someone else.  It’s time to live boldly in our identity.

It’s mirror time again! Look at your beautiful face in the mirror or selfie camera and proclaim the truth with me today!

IAM Complete

1 Corinthians 1:7-9 NLT Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns. God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

We are complete.  When we decide to have a relationship with God, through his son Jesus, we become transformed in that one moment.  It’s not a feeling, its a knowing.  Changes started happening inside, and the work continues inside each of us daily, as we submit to God and allow his Spirit to guide us.
It’s time to take hold of the truth, and let that truth continously work inside of us.  Let the truth dominate your feelings and reality. Not the other way around.

Right now, the spiritual gifts we need are already inside of us, but our past baggage and sins might be a big factor as to why we are not working in then 100%.  As we spend time with God everyday, praying and meditating on his word, ask God to keep peeling back the layers that are holding the real you down.  Let’s get rid of the things about our self that we may even be clinging to as a part of our identity, when in fact they are the things that hurt us from shining in our true identity.

Your identity is a powerful mighty partner with the faithful Son of God!  How about that for a title on a business card?

Take some time and write down the answers to these questions:
1. What are your passionate about?
2. What injustices in this world make you angry?
3. In what ways are you uniquely gifted to minister to others?

If the answers to those questions are a little hazy, it’s ok!  Ask God to show you more of who you are.
Ask God to give you his heartbeat and eyes for the people in this world who are hurting.
Ask God to refine the spiritual gifts that are already inside of you.   Ask God to peel back one layer of sin or disbelief that is inhibiting you from moving in your gifts.

We have made decisions in the past to run away and avoid our amazing destiny.  Now it’s time to make decisions and steps to start moving towards our true identity.  Don’t be afraid that you aren’t gifted enough.  God has given you all you need.  We have a partner who is all powerful and faithful.

Shout this one out loud to the world, and let it echo deep into your soul!

Mark 14:61-62 NLT But Jesus was silent and made no reply. Then the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” Jesus said, “ i am . And you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven. ”

Jesus knew who he was.  He spoke plainly and boldly.

And he knew where he was going, he knew his destiny, and he speaks with confidence about that truth!

If you take a look at the whole chapter and previous chapters in the gospel,  Jesus is finally betrayed and he stands before his accusers. Yes, that’s me, you got it!

But not wrongfully accused, but asked to give testimony about who he is.

who-are-you-about-page

Are you one of them Christians?

Yes, IAM, and I want to share the Love of Jesus with you!

Are you someone who can help me, because my family member is dying of cancer?

Yes, IAM, and I will pray for you and your family in the power of the Holy Spirit

Are you someone who can provide wisdom and insight into this horrible situation?

Yes, IAM, and I will speak the truth of God’s love and ways.

And everyday! Someone is crying out!  Who can bring sense or reason to this crazy crazy world we live in?  I need help!  I need someone to talk to!  I need someone to pray for a miracle!

With no hesitation, just instinct?  When our second nature, and first nature, become one powerful being moving in power, then we are confident!  Yes, IAM.

When I hear and read people’s prayer requests, I love the ones that say “I want to know God more!” Or “I want to go deeper”  or the really bold one “I want true faith” I boldy ask that God answers these prayers and He gives you a bold bold measure of strength, because these are prayers that will disrupt your middle class 3 bedroom 1.5 bath existence!

The middle will be messy, but the finished person will be Glorious!  And you will stand among the witnesses and warriors who know very clearly what they are, who they are, and what it is they are called to accomplish in this life.
God is refining you, purifying you, and transforming you!

Everyday, I hope to encourage you with another shade and aspect of God’s identity.

It’s my prayer that you will have the opportunity to boldly testify the truth in words and action

JEREMIAH 29:11-13 NLT For I know the plans I have for you,” says the lord . “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

Do you believe you have a destiny for greatness?

My definition for greatness:  Serving the needs of the many.

God created you for a specific purpose!  You have a unique personality and character that is necessary for God’s purposes

God has an amazing plan for my life and yours.
None of those plans involve disaster.  That’s good right?

God knows the plans he has for us.  God’s wisdom and plans are too complex for me to understand.  He doesn’t do things the way the world expects.   People wanted a military king, but he sent the Prince of Peace: Jesus

God’s plan is to give us a future and a hope.
To give us positive expectations for a better life.
To give us hope that life is going to be abundant.

I don’t see anything in here about life being a cruel joke.

I don’t see anything about life being 6 days of suffering for a couple moments of pleasure.
I don’t see anything in the bible about murphy’s law.
But somehow these attitudes and mindsets have invaded our society and thinking
Let’s remove these lies from our thinking and embrace the truth in our identity and our God.

As God’s people, we have an amazing future, hope and destiny for greatness.  We may not know how everything will play out, but God makes it very clear how we can stay on that path to greatness

Pray, and look for God wholeheartedly.  Then we will find God.
Promise: you WILL FIND ME.
Promise: When you pray, I WILL LISTEN!
Promise:  If we look for God wholeheartedly,  WE WILL FIND HIM!

Wholeheartedly means searching for God like we are searching for a missing child!  A manhunt.

Did you ever turn over your whole house just to look for one missing thing? Let’s have that same posture and aggression when its comes to looking for God.

Let’s proclaim the truth!

IAM Destined for Greatness
IAM Hopeful for the Future
When I Pray, God will Listen
When I seek wholeheartedly, I Will Find Him

Who wants to start a Gospel Choir?

I AM Unwavering

Hebrews 10: 23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near

The God who has promised us great things is a consistent God.
He can be trusted to keep his promises.

All we need to do is hold on tightly without wavering to the HOPE we affirm.

The hope we have testified to.
That hope is a guideline.
Imagine walking over a rope bridge.

Most-Dangerous-Bridges-In-The-World-Rope-Bridge

Imagine walking over this bridge blindfolded, except for the assurances from God.  Uhh yeah!  someone pack my depends undergarments?
1. It’s going to be ok
2. the ropes and cables won’t snap
3. just keep walking and hold on

I am pretty sure every step and handhold, I would be praying to God.
God! Help me!

It’s my personal prayer that I could adopt this way of thinking and conversation with God. To prayerfully consider everything. To be in the Spirit in every moment of my life.

And once I cross this bridge. Do I do it alone?
No! Thankfully the word tells us that there are others He wants us to cross the bridge daily with.

Hebrews 10:25 ESV not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

You know habits form in the brain , psyche and will.
It takes over 21 days to form a habit.
and over 66 days to lock it in for good.
Habits can form in negative ways as well as positive life giving ways.

The ESV uses the word Habit, and I think it’s perfect.
Do we look forward to, and cherish the fellowship of believers?
Does it strengthen and refresh us?
If it doesn’t maybe we should look at who we are fellowshipping with the most?

I know that when I spend time with my church, life group, wife, kids, I look forward to it.
But in the times that I feel like I want to avoid my true friends, its probably because I am hiding something, guilty, and I want to avoid times of conviction and growth.

Let us motivate one another to acts of Love and Good works. How?
Through prayer, through encouragement.
Not through isolation.
But with meeting with each other
And in increasing frequency as we see the day approaching.
Let’s proclaim the truth of who you are today:
I AM Unwavering
I AM Holding tight to God’s Promises
I AM to Stir up my Brothers and Sisters
I AM a Habitual Encourager
I AM a Habitual Fellowshipper
