IAM Rooted in God’s Love

IAM Rooted in Love
Ephesians 3:16-19 NLT I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Let the roots of your heart and life grow deep into God’s love. Transformation starts at the instant we choose to believe. The real growth happens on a daily basis. Ask God to reveal more of his love to you. Ask God to give you love for the difficult people in your life. Ask Jesus to make a home inside of your heart. A visitor stops over for maybe an hour or so, then leave. I need more than a visit from Jesus. I need Jesus to setup permanent residence in my heart and mind!

Can you trust in God’s perfect love? God’s love solves every problem, argument, pain, bondage and addiction. Every other love can’t compare to God’s love. When Jesus lives inside of you, there won’t be room for everything else unworthy.

God’s love makes us stable and strong. Make your home in God’s love. God’s love does not end. It takes serious mental power to even understand its size, depth and length! It’s my prayer for you that you experience God’s love. Experiencing love brings us to a depth of understanding. Reading or hearing about it does not compare to first hand experiencing the wonderful amazing love of our God.

Your new life started as an infant little sapling planted in good soil.

Your power and depth of roots allow you to withstand any storm or trial that life can throw at you. Imagine your life complete, then know that even in that moment your roots are still growing deeper into God’s love. Imagine your life in the place where you aren’t concerned with God’s love. Imagine all your energy spent on learning more love and experiencing more of it? God wants that life for you. It’s my prayer for you as well!

IAM Rooted in Love
IAM a home for Christ
IAM Empowered by Love
IAM Constantly Growing in Love
IAM Strong to withstand any storm

How High, How Wide, How Deep!  Celebrate it!

Matt Redman “The Cross Has Said It All”
The cross has said it all,
The cross has said it all.
I can’t deny what You have shown,
The cross speaks of a God of love;
There displayed for all to see,
Jesus Christ, our only hope,
A message of the Father’s heart:
“Come, my children, come on home.”–
As…

High as the heav’ns are above the earth,
So high is the measure of Your great love;
As far as the east is from the west,
So far have You taken our sins from us

The cross has said it all,
The cross has said it all.
I never recognized Your touch
Until I met You at the cross.
We are fallen, dust to dust;
How could You do this for us?
Son of God she’d precious blood;
Who can comprehend this love?

How high, how wide, how deep
How high, how wide, how deep,
How high!

IAM Persistent

LUKE 11:9-13 NLT “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. “You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead?  Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not!  So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”

Don’t give up.  When you want something bad enough, then the world is going to test you how bad you want it.  How many times have you ever knocked on someone’s door?  Would it change if you knew someone was inside and you could hear them?

Was it just a little phase in your life or is it a burning passion that defines who you are?keepon_1

Expectation is an important part of our identity and prayers. Expect that the prayers will be answered.  Expect that your visions and hopes will come to pass. Instead of asking once, not hearing anything and giving up after the first little road block.  Also expect that it is going to happen because we are speaking to a Good God.

God is ready, willing and powerful enough to grant what you are praying for.  God wants the best for you. God wants to grant you the power of his Spirit to live in power.

Let’s speak out our identity today:

IAM Persistent

IAM Determined

IAM a Child of a Good God

IAM Given the Holy Spirit because I ask for it.

I want to encourage you to take the time to read all of Luke 11.

Let the words roll over in your mind.  Ask God to give you hope, expectation, words to pray, and the spirit to keep on asking and seeking until the prayers are answered.

IAM a Work in Progress

PHILIPPIANS 1:6 NLT And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

We are still in the process. We have not arrived just yet. I want to encourage you first:  God started something GOOD inside of you.  When we think about what events in our life sparked the desire to change or grow, many times, we might think about some shocking events that might seem negative.  I look back and I think I might have done some things differently as a youngster, but those origins are what makes me today.  I hold to the truth that a Good, Great work was started inside of me in the beginning.  My birth was in greatness, and my life will continue in greatness.

More great news:  We didn’t just sign up for something, and that’s it!  We aren’t left to just twist in the wind, and fend for ourselves! We now continue to grow, improve, learn, change and transform everyday!  I am so impressed when I hear about people who make decisions to do amazing things, and the world tells them they are crazy.

When the world tells you that you are crazy , or that it’s impossible: great, you are on the right track! Don’t listen to the lies of the world: you are too old, not smart enough, the opponent is invincible.   Only stick to what you know. God started something in me, and I am going to keep moving towards that wonderful goal!

The beauty of life is that we have the amazing ability to continue to learn and grow.  We have the infinite capacity to learn.  We also have the capacity to grow in our heart for others.

Philippians-0106

Don’t give up!

Don’t write off the world and think that society is not going to change

Don’t think: Who am I but one person, how can I make an impact

You can’t teach this old dog new tricks!

LIES!  All of them!

Today:  Think about the things that are left unfinished.  Are you supposed to leave them behind because they are unworthy of your life?  Or have you forgotten about who you really are, and you need to get back to it?  Don’t give up!  Stay the course!

I believe in you!

IAM Born in greatness

IAM Growing in Greatness everyday

IAM Constantly Transforming

IAM Improving Everyday

Enjoy this song, and let it work on your soul 🙂

Steve Green
He Who Began A Good Work

He who began a good work in you
He who began a good work in you
Will be faithful to complete it
He’ll be faithful to complete it
He who started the work
Will be faithful to complete it in you

If the struggle you’re facing
Is slowly replacing
Your hope with despair
Or the process is long
And you’re losing your song
In the night you can be sure
That the Lord has His hand on you
Safe and secure
He will never abandon you
You are His treasure
And He finds His pleasure in you

He who began a good work in you
He who began a good work in you
Will be faithful to complete it
He’ll be faithful to complete it
He who started the work
Will be faithful to complete it in you
If the struggle you’re facing
Is slowly replacing
Your hope with despair
Or the process is long
And you’re losing your song
In the night you can be sure
That the Lord has His hand on you
Safe and secure
He will never abandon you
You are His treasure
And He finds His pleasure in you

IAM Resolute

Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

a.baa-Hebrews-121-2-verse

The definition of: Resolute: admirably purposeful, determined, and unwavering
Whether we are in a sprint or in a long distance run… any extra weight is not good.  Extra mental burdens that cloud our thinking or totally preoccupy our brain time.

And even if our setup is perfect, and we are ready, one loose shoelace could easy knock us to the ground.  Let’s do a prerace checkup and make sure we don’t have any loose ends that could potentially trip us up

The word calls this life a race and that imagery is good.  Because every race has a couple things

1. A planned course that we can follow.  That plan God has placed before you.  Life this life is a crazy scavenger hunt with a moving target and no ending.
2. Races have a champion:  Jesus is our champion. He lived this life, the same way as us.  He had  mom, dad, brothers, sisters, went to school.  Dealt with drama, people trying to accuse him of things he didn’t do, people gossiping about him.   And he was perfect in his life as the model for us.
3. At the end of every race, there is celebration party!  Our celebration awaits us in heaven with the other champions who have run before us. Living faithfully for God.

DAV_5453

Jesus kept on running the race because of the Joy that was awaiting him.  He went through the painful parts and shame for us.  Because he knew the outcome. And like a world record holder that will never be wiped from the books: Jesus will always be remembered

Right now, I can say, things aren’t perfect, and the path can seem cloudy. But close your eyes and imagine what it’s going to be like in heaven!

This is my favorite part of Amazing Grace:

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

10,000 years of worshipping and enjoying heaven is going to be like the first day we got there!

Friend, fellow runner, faithful warrior:  It may be a little tough right now, but there’s a beautiful end goal!
And I don’t want to be there alone, I hope we can usher in as many across that finish line as possible.

Until my legs give out

Until the wheels fall off the cart
Until I wear our my knees in battle.
Let’s keep on running with resolution for the final goal!

IAM a witness to the life of faith.
IAM called to testify about the life of faith through Christ Jesus
And I must carry out that calling with resolution and endurance

I AM Unwavering

Hebrews 10: 23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near

The God who has promised us great things is a consistent God.
He can be trusted to keep his promises.

All we need to do is hold on tightly without wavering to the HOPE we affirm.

The hope we have testified to.
That hope is a guideline.
Imagine walking over a rope bridge.

Most-Dangerous-Bridges-In-The-World-Rope-Bridge

Imagine walking over this bridge blindfolded, except for the assurances from God.  Uhh yeah!  someone pack my depends undergarments?
1. It’s going to be ok
2. the ropes and cables won’t snap
3. just keep walking and hold on

I am pretty sure every step and handhold, I would be praying to God.
God! Help me!

It’s my personal prayer that I could adopt this way of thinking and conversation with God. To prayerfully consider everything. To be in the Spirit in every moment of my life.

And once I cross this bridge. Do I do it alone?
No! Thankfully the word tells us that there are others He wants us to cross the bridge daily with.

Hebrews 10:25 ESV not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

You know habits form in the brain , psyche and will.
It takes over 21 days to form a habit.
and over 66 days to lock it in for good.
Habits can form in negative ways as well as positive life giving ways.

The ESV uses the word Habit, and I think it’s perfect.
Do we look forward to, and cherish the fellowship of believers?
Does it strengthen and refresh us?
If it doesn’t maybe we should look at who we are fellowshipping with the most?

I know that when I spend time with my church, life group, wife, kids, I look forward to it.
But in the times that I feel like I want to avoid my true friends, its probably because I am hiding something, guilty, and I want to avoid times of conviction and growth.

Let us motivate one another to acts of Love and Good works. How?
Through prayer, through encouragement.
Not through isolation.
But with meeting with each other
And in increasing frequency as we see the day approaching.
Let’s proclaim the truth of who you are today:
I AM Unwavering
I AM Holding tight to God’s Promises
I AM to Stir up my Brothers and Sisters
I AM a Habitual Encourager
I AM a Habitual Fellowshipper
